ou said “yes” to the dress, and it is beautiful, just like you. No matter when your wedding date is, you have time to get your glow on for your special day. Your local medspa has a variety of aesthetic services and non-surgical procedures to choose from. Brigette Moss, NP and owner of Fixx Medical Spa in Shreveport, provided a timeline for brides and anyone else whose skin needs some TLC before a special event.

Consult with a trusted aesthetician who will help you make a treatment plan based on your skin goals, budget, and schedule. Moss suggests, “At this point, I would first invest in medical grade skincare. Skincare alone will make dramatic changes and could mean fewer treatments needed closer to the wedding. It will also prep the skin for any upcoming treatments so that results will be better and last longer.”

This is the ideal time to consider a microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment. This procedure utilizes tiny needles and a person’s own plasma to stimulate collagen production. According to Moss, “After microneedling with PRP, skin is brighter and smoother with improved fine lines and wrinkles. Best results for this treatment usually show around four to six months after.” Microneedling with PRP is known to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and acne scars.

Six to eight weeks prior

Wedding planning, though joyous, can be a stressful time. Smooth out those worry wrinkles with Botox treatments. Moss said, “In surveys of Botox users, clients like their results best at the six-to-eight-week mark after treatment. This is when skin is still smooth but allows for soft expression and looks natural in pictures. Do NOT get injections within two weeks of the wedding to avoid bruising or imperfections with the treatment to show.”

Looking for a cost-effective, quick treatment with minimal downtime and maximum glow? Consider a chemical peel with dermaplaning. Skin will look tighter, smoother, and brighter after peeling. Wedding makeup performs best on smooth, tight skin. After exfoliation procedures like this, it’s more important than ever to use sun protection, as the fresh skin will be especially sensitive to the sun.

Wedding week is for pampering. A Hydrafacial treatment is a perfect way to nourish your skin days ahead of your special day. The Hydrafacial device uses a vortex swirling action to deep cleanse the skin of impurities while introducing maximum hydration. Moss said, “Not only does a Hydrafacial feel good, your skin will be deeply cleansed, hydrated and perfected with customized serums.” This would also make a thoughtful gift for the bridal party so everyone can look their best.

While these treatments can give your skin a leg up, don’t forget the foundational ways to achieve healthy skin and a healthy life. Drink your water, get quality sleep, laugh a lot and practice gratitude. Relish the whole wedding experience so you will look back on it as one of the sweetest times of your life.
